The 12th Annual Taste of Rockport

12th Annual Taste of Rockportby Ruth Drake

All you foodies take special note, the 12th Annual Taste of Rockport will be returning March 21st to delight your taste buds once again. This year’s event will be featuring some of the best cuisine this side of paradise all under one roof for your dining pleasure.

Hemingway's Bar & GrillCaroline's Turtle Bay CafeA line-up of some of the fabulous food you can expect to sample includes Hemingway’s. A longtime Rockport favorite, Hemingway’s has recently undergone a recent transformation you won’t want to miss out on their too good to be true cuisine. Caroline of Caroline’s Turtle Bay Café will be there rocking her authentic down home cooking, and having eaten plenty of times at her place, I’m sure the portions will be just that – plentiful! If a big thick juicy steak is your idea of Heaven, can’t wait to see what K-Bobs will be bringing to the table. It’s also been reported that Rockport Bakery will be baking up something delightful from their ever-lovin’ ovens which will be sure to please.Rockport Bakery

K-Bob's SteakhouseAs if all this wasn’t enough we’ve also got His Honor, Jimmy Kendricks, the Mayor of Fulton who promises the best barbeque west of the Pecos. Don’t tell, but rumor has it, not only will His Honor be basting with one hand, he’ll be shaking yours with his other. HEB, our neighborhood store, will be offering tastings of their specialty trays. Great for any occasion. Another Fulton entry is the one and only beautiful Donna T of Hammerheads, serving some of her fabulous tidbits. This lady knows her way around the kitchen. Everyone loves cheesecake, and everyone LOVES Jama. Need we say more? Serving up daily some of her over 80 different types of cheesecake every day, there will be a line folks!HEB

Hammerhead's Bar & GrillAnd now LAST but not even the LEAST, Chef Ken Foster from Cindy’s Sweet Tabu will be featuring his “try to copy” but never imitated food creation, Asian-Cajun Fusion. New in Rockport, Cindy’s and Chef Ken are already attracting quite a following amongst the foodie crowd. You know who you are!!

The Lunch Box and Jama's Famous CheesecakesAnother special treat at this year’s foodapalooza will be Braman Winery. Joe Braman’s fine wines compete with nothing else, but maybe Joe’s Kitchen. All the way from Refugio, it’s anyone’s guess what delicious morsels or merlots he’ll be bringing.

Cindy's Sweet TabuWhere in the Coastal Bend could you possibly find a food line-up like this all under one roof? The only place that comes to my mind is THE TASTE OF ROCKPORT!Asian Cajun

The Taste of Rockport will take place on Thursday March 21st beginning at 6pm. The event will be held at the Fulton Convention Center (Paws & Taws Building) on Fulton Beach Road. Live auction, music and fun are all just part of the fun. BON APPETITE YA’LL!Braman Winery
